The debate between synthetic and conventional oil is one of the most common questions we get at the shop. While conventional oil has been around for decades, modern engines are built with tighter tolerances that often demand better lubrication.
What is Synthetic Oil?
Synthetic oil is chemically engineered to have a uniform molecular size, which reduces friction and provides better protection at extreme temperatures. It doesn't break down as easily as conventional oil.
The Benefits
- Better flow in cold weather
- Higher resistance to heat breakdown
- Longer intervals between changes (though we still recommend sticking to manufacturer schedules)
